David Robinson

Deputy Director, Vaccine Development & Surveillance – CMC and Polio Product Development @ Gates Foundation

As Deputy Director, CMC Vaccines Development and Surveillance, David and his team work with internal and external partners to develop manufacturing technologies and execute CMC strategies to advance the foundation’s goal to save lives and reduce healthcare inequities. Specifically for COVID, David is a co-chair of the COVAX Vaccine Manufacturing SWAT team and a member of the Vaccine Manufacturing Task Force Leadership Team. David received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his Doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, both in chemical engineering. David did his post-doctoral studies at the ETH in Zurich. David previously spent 25 years at Merck & Co, Inc (MSD), holding VP positions as head of Bioprocess R&D, Biologics Project Leadership and CMC Regulatory.
